Opropre Technology:

OPROPRE is the pre-filter designed to address a major public health challenge: PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals”.

These chemical compounds, extremely persistent, resist conventional treatment methods.

Its technology combines coconut shell activated carbon with a unique specialized resin, capable of effectively trapping PFAS before they reach the UV-A purifier.

It also acts on other emerging contaminants: heavy metals, micro and nanoplastics, pesticides, and volatile organic compounds.

Thus, tap water is prepared for complete and natural purification, for enhanced protection against chemical and physical threats.

How to start the water purifier?

Place the purifier on a stable surface near a socket, plug the adapter into the purifier and then into the socket. The base blinks three times to confirm compatibility with the DC adapter. Your purifier is ready for use.

How long can I keep treated water?

The WHO recommends drinking bottled water within 48 hours after opening, even after transferring. Indeed, purification occurs in a sealed environment: once opened, the water can be recolonized by bacteria.

Like mineral water, our unopened bottles can be stored indefinitely if kept cool or at room temperature.

What is the difference between the Pure and Premium models?

The Pure and Premium models LaVie are equipped with the same technology and purification capacity. The difference between the two versions is therefore purely aesthetic.

Whichever version you choose, you benefit from the same water treatment performance and the same UVA photolysis technology. It is this efficiency and respect for the natural quality of water that allow this technology to position itself as the best water purifier for those who wish for healthier water on a daily basis.

How to fill the bottle?

At the tap.

Do not fill your LaVie bottle completely: leave 1 to 2 cm of air.

During treatment, the water heats slightly (1 to 2 °C) and, without this space, the pressure can cause the bottle to break.

What maintenance for my purifier LaVie?

No maintenance is required.

The treatment automatically cleans the bottle. Simply clean the exterior from time to time (about once a month or if stains appear) with a little white vinegar or baking soda and warm water.

The bottle is also dishwasher safe, except for the bamboo cap.

How to set the duration of the purification treatment?

By default, the purifier is in standard mode (15 min).
To change the duration, turn it over and press with a small point on the button under the base.

Blue: intermediate mode (22 min)
Red: intense mode (30 min)
Green: return to standard mode (15 min)

What is the lifespan of a purifier LaVie?

It is difficult to estimate the lifespan of the purifier, but the UVA LEDs are designed for about 50,000 hours, or 200,000 cycles of 15 min — the equivalent of 54 years at 4 uses per day.

Their average lifespan as stated by the manufacturer is about 10 years.

Does the purifier affect the formation of limescale?

The tap water contains calcium, not limestone. It is an essential trace element for health.

The treatment LaVie preserves this liquid calcium while eliminating the bad taste, unless the water is very hard.

It also reduces the formation of limestone in your appliances by about 50 %.

From an economic point of view, is the purifier really interesting?

Thanks to its low consumption, the purifier LaVie allows for the treatment of 1,000 L of water for about €1.50 in electricity.

For a family of two, the purchase pays for itself in one year compared to bottled mineral water.

Can I use the Opropre Prefilter if I already have a purifier LaVie?

Opropre and purifiers are two complementary treatments.

The resin and coconut activated carbon present in Opropre allow for the removal of PFAS, microplastics, and heavy metals while leaving 40% of the chlorine in the water. The treatment with purifier LaVie in addition will allow to:

– remove chlorine and chemical pollutants at the molecular level
– remove any bacteria that could “live” in the activated carbon cartridge

Do I need a lot of space for the installation?

The Opropre Prefilter is installed under your sink. The filter holder dimension is 36 cm high and an additional 4 cm is needed to open and replace the Prefilter: therefore, a height space of 40 cm is required for installation (horizontally or vertically).

The widest diameter (top of the prefilter) is 13 cm, so approximately 17/18 cm in diameter should be considered with the installed hoses.

What is the lifespan of the Opropre Prefilter?

We recommend changing the OPropre Prefilter every 6 months.

This is the safety period considered by all filter manufacturers.

That said, if you consistently pass the water through the LaVie purifier, for example, which eliminates 100% of bacteria, it is not “serious” to exceed the deadline.

How can I dispose of my used Prefilter?

What is the micron filtration degree of the Opropre Prefilter?

There is no sieve filtration in our device, making it impossible to provide a size.

The principle of “pre-filtration” is adsorption for activated carbon and ion exchange for PFas resin, which is much more precise and effective than simple meshes.

Can pre-filtered water from the Opropre Prefilter be used for preparing infant formula?

Yes.

Our entire range is designed to retain the trace elements present in water.
You just need to avoid “over-mineralized” waters, which have a dry residue greater than 1.2G (1200mg)/l, but especially waters rich in nitrates (up to 50 mg/l, but above that, tap water is declared non-potable).

So, in principle, if these two criteria are met in your tap water, you can absolutely use tap water for infants, and we also recommend using the LaVie purifier for the same reasons as previously mentioned.

Can we drink water directly filtered by Opropre?

Yes, absolutely.

Is the Opropre Prefilter effective for "hard" pesticides?

The Opropre Prefilter is effective against most “hard” and “eternal” pesticides, such as Pfas, Chlorothalonil, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), metolachlore ESA and OXA, endocrine disruptors (EDs), chlordane, etc.

Can I install Opropre by myself?

Absolutely.

Simply disconnect the cold water supply from the faucet, screw it onto the filter inlet, and then connect the output of the Prefilter to the cold water inlet of your faucet.
